General Educational Development (GED) tests are a group of four subject tests which, when passed, provide certification that the test taker has American or Canadian high school-level academic skills.

Although the "GED" initialism is frequently mistaken as meaning "general education degree" or "general education diploma", the American Council on Education, which owns the GED trademark, coined the initialism to identify "tests of general educational development" that measure proficiency in science, mathematics, social studies, reading, and writing. Passing the GED test gives those who do not complete high school, or who do not meet requirements for high school diploma, the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency credential, also called a high school equivalency diploma, general equivalency diploma a high-school degree awarded by a series of examinations; also called GED as in the dictionary, in the majority of the United States,Canada, or internationally. In 2014, some states in the United States switched to alternate exams, HiSET and TASC.

The GED Testing Service is a joint venture of the American Council on Education. Pearson is the sole developer for the GED test. The test is taken on a computer and in person. States and jurisdictions award a Certificate of High School Equivalency or similarly titled credential to persons who meet the passing score requirements.

IMCM has been exclusively authorized by Pearson VUE with full endorsements from the General Educational Development (GED) its first and only partner in Myanmar, to administer General Educational Development (GED) test in Myanmar.

GED Testing (2002 Series)

The 2002 GED test is a modular exam that allows module selection. Students are not required to take all the modules in one exam appointment and may instead choose to take multiple modules in several appointments. As a result, the total exam will vary for each exam appointment.

• Student will need to pay government tax on the exam day. Test center will collect the tax on behalf of Ministry of Finance.
• Available exam time is Monday through Friday (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Seats can fill up quickly, so register early. We recommend that you register 7 days before your desired test date to reserve your seat.
• Students are required to provide one valid form of identification. The ID must be government issued and non-expired. It must also include the student's name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph. GED Testing Service accepts the following primary forms of ID:
  • Passport
  • Driver's License
  • Learner's Permit
  • National/state/country identification card
• Student receive 10 minutes break between each module
• Students are not permitted to access personal item during schedule break
• Score is an average standard score of 450 or greater across the five content area tests (a total standard score of 2250 or greater) with a standard score of 10 or greater on each content area test.
• A preliminary score report is printed at the end of each test. The score report includes an unofficial pass/fail score for all tests except the writing test. If a score report is not printed, direct the student to contact his or her jurisdiction for a copy of the score report.
